[BreachExchange] Premier Health investigates data breach

Premier Health is investigating how many people were impacted by a
data breach this year.

According to a letter sent to patients, Premier Health discovered
unusual activity involving certain employee email accounts on June 8,
2020.

Premier Health contracted a cybersecurity forensics vendor who
reviewed the content of the compromised mailboxes.

They told News Center 7 that this review could take several months.

The investigation confirmed that certain accounts were subject to
unauthorized access by someone not connected with Premier Health,
starting on May 5 through June 16.

In the letter, Premier Health said that the investigation could not
conclusively rule out that data within the accounts had been accessed.

Premier Health told News Center 7 that they had not determined how
many people have been affected by this security incident.

They are offering credit monitoring to those whose Social Security
number or driver’s license/state identification number have been
identified as impacted. They said at this time, there was no evidence
that any information was subject to actual or attempted misuse.
